Going out - Musée Quai-Branly Jacques-Chirac

In homage to Jacques Chirac, the institution dedicated to non-Western arts and civilizations will be free of charge until October 11.

Built facing the Seine, the museum designed by Jean Nouvel and inaugurated by Jacques Chirac in 2006 would not have been born without the willing of Jacques Chirac. At the time, it was the only free space in Paris where such a large institution could be built and he wanted a museum dedicated to other cultures. He went there very regularly.

At the moment, you can see a temporary exhibition dedicated to the acquisitions made since 1998, the date of creation of the museum's public institution, which itself was opened eight years later.

Stéphane Martin, the president of the museum, declared to the Parisien newspaper about this exhibition, which began two days before Jacques Chirac's death, "it is really his collection, the collection that began in 1998 when he launched the Quai Branly Museum".
